"In January, 2018, my home was all but destroyed by the debris flow. Some walls had been blown out and most windows were missing. The majority of the house was buried in three feet of mud and debris. I let the house just stand for several years as we sorted through our memories and salvaged what we could. I met Jay Hanseth the first day I came to the house, once I was allowed to go into it. Jay had already scraped away mud and debris from the driveway from the street, and opened a path to my front door. It was a nice welcome. As time went on, Jay and his crew cleared the house and patios for me, and started sanitizing the 2x4’s after the wallboard had been stripped off. Although we could see the bones of the house, most friends and family thought I should just sell it or tear it down. With Jays guidance, however, we decided to rebuild it. The amazing saga to bring my home of 47 years back to life began. Although Jay was involved with other homeowners after the disaster recovery, we worked tirelessly together to restore our home. He worked with me on several changes we decided to make to the house. Otherwise it was built as it was but better than it was previously. Jay and his team are true professionals. Jay worked with me and my budget, being mindful of my settlement from insurance. Although Jay was extremely busy during my project, he was always available to meet with me. "Jay Hanseth & his team renovated our 1980's Montecito house in 2022. They were easy to work with, professional and dedicated. Jay has a team of pros that addressed every aspect of our renovation. And it was a "gut renovation"... down to the studs. The house was transformed from a Tuscan period piece to a fresh and inviting modern space. We were referred to Jay by a neighbor who had used Jay's team for their renovation and we were excited to have a solid recommendation. Of course, the renovation happened during COVID - a difficult time to get workers and materials. But Jay and his team managed through that and we are very pleased with the outcome.
